God Provides

Our prayers that God supplies in our time of need have been answered according to His riches. SengKang Methodist Church stands in testimony to God's providence. The process of moving into a new church building is exciting, and so is the financial burden. It is exciting because it is a test of our faith in God's faithfulness to 'clothe' us as he does to the lilies of the field. The year prior to our moving into the new church building saw our financial situation worsening to the tune of -10% operating deficit, to our current fiscal year break even situation. In addition, the moving-in furnishing expense of $250K was raised through generous offerings and interest-free loans. On top of that, we have just reached our half million mark commitment to the church building fund.

Our financial situation has improved tremendously from a year ago, but we are certainly not out of the woods yet. Whilst worship offerings and thanksgiving have doubled in accordance to the growth in our attendance, tithings have increased by only 10% over the same period. We are still facing negative cash flows as total current liabilities still exceed our cash position by a significant amount.

We depend on God's mercy and providence to see His work accomplished in the land of SengKang. We continue to pray and ask Jehovah Jireh to improve our financial situation through a healthy tithing and offering program. His promise is true in Mal 3:10, 'Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the Lord Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour our so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.' May obedience to God be one of our tenets of faith.

We thank God for His wonderful provision.
